Canardweb
Hello, I am looking for a new rear rim. I am currently riding a Viz Single wall rim but as I ground it too much, it is getting pretty weak! So I am looking for a rim that is strong, light, which permits a solid brake feel (by that, I mean a rim that has solid sidewalls that don't flex), and a rim that holds a grind well! So, after researches, I have these choices: -Viz single wall Square-holed rim (the same that I have now) -Try-hole single wall rim -Rockman single wall rim (as Tarty don't have them yet: here is a link: http://www.trialprod.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=443) Please help choosing a rim. If you have other choices of rims please let me know as long as they fit the criterias below!
josh barker
try all, very good rims hold grinds well and strong wheels the new onza diamond rims seem to be good too, very light and my old mod onza rim held grinds excellent Edited February 27, 2010 by josh barker
Jake Beach
That Rockman looks very similar to the try-all. I 've heard that the Try-Alls are very good.

Canardweb
It will be 720 grams then! I don't want that rim anyway. I'll take the try all
Julius Czar
Your going to have to sacrifice weight over strength at some point, because you'll get fed up of buying new ones when they collapse Get a trialtech undrilled rim. They keep grinds for months, they're strong as feck, and lighter than an echo urban rim
Mark W
The new Rockman rims, just like their freewheel, is a direct copy of the Try-All rim. It's sort of disappointing as Rockman have been pretty original with a lot of their stuff, but appear to just copy a lot of Try-All's ideas now. Anyways, they're good rims. Speaking of - Stan and Ali have been using the Trialtech SL rims for a while now and they seem to be working out well. Both of them run grinds on the back and they've taken quite a few, so they might be one to consider
0zzy
my mate i ride with dave was saying that the viz single wall rims is a lot flexier then the trialtech single wall. hes got both btw. this is just by flexing them in his hands, he hasnt ridden the trialtech one as far as im aware yet.. Mark W
Weight can sort of give you an idea about that simply because the more material a rim has, the more stiffer it's likely to feel. However, in terms of braking, I'd have thought they'd have both been pretty similar, and you'd probably notice flex coming from other points before your rim's sidewalls flexing in.
