Setting Hs33

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am currently waiting for new clamps to arrive (stupid postal service) and I would like to know your method to set your hs33 in order to have a perfect lever feel.

So I'm not talking about bleeding or that sort of stuff, but for example how you set your pads perfectly squared with the rim...

Please don't post that TNN video. I have seen it more than once...

Please be precise if you have a step by step method. Thanks to you.

Get someone to help you set it up, makes a huge difference.

Find something thin, credit card type of thing or a CD and put that in between the pad and the rim. Push the pad onto the rim and tighten it up. Should be nice and square to the rim.

You may want to add to the thickness of your spacer, esppecially on the drive side as the wheel tends to flex that way.

I've always found that having the blade flat to your bars when your applying full preasure to the lever helps too.

So it pulls in all the way?

Eurgh, I hate that :P

It has to lock somewhere in the middle, so that there's room to pull it harder if need be. I find that having the lever pull all the way in makes less use of the power in your finger.

Sorry, I meant parralel. :)

Yeah, I have mine pull back pretty far - feels like my fingers are able to pull stronger/more effectively when my hands closer to a fist (like if you have your hand curled into a fist then try and bend a finger back it's really hard, but if you've got your finger sticking out already it's much harder to stop it being pushed back), so I also set the grub screws on my levers so they are closer in when they're at rest too.

Think those pads are either Koxx Greens or Rock Greens, not Cousts.

EDIT: I just lost, haha.

EDIT 2: May have totally missed it in this thread, but what clamps have you bought Simon?

That's because it's also a biomechanical fact (Y)

Those little Echo ali clips must really help fine tuning the pad alignment compare to the plastic maguras.

They certainly do, awesome clamps....
