Guantanamo
Going to bid on a shimano xtr br-m960 brake on ebay, just need to find out whether there are seperate front and rear brakes for this model or just one that works for both. Had a look online and can't seem to find much about it. Thanks for your time Adam Edited February 23, 2010 by Guantanamo
Revolver
These are V-brake arms? I think the difference is in the noodle thing, which is a small detail and something that shouldn't make too much of a difference.

ben_travis
In my opinion i wouldnt waste my money on XTR v-brakes. (if you are using them for trials use). I find they create a spongy feeling at the lever, and do not have the power to hold up for trials use. furthermore i had some that i used on my front brake that snapped on the "2nd" arm bit, then i replaced it and it did the same on the second caliper i use. if you are thinking about them for trials use then avoid like the plague IMO. A much better brake caliper would be something like the AVID digit 5 from TartyBikes, or this shimano one here
Al_Fel
You can't beat SD7's they are cheap and work great.
craigjames
The parallel push arms on the XTR brakes have a habit of flexing and making them feel spongy and in the worse case snapping. With the noodle, its nothing to do with the noodle itself, but which side it routes from, but as said this wont make any real difference. jambo
Yup listen to Mr Travis i have a pair of those xtr arms sitting it out on the shelf replaced by the much cheaper and simpler avid sd5.

Does every one think they're no good? they'll be going on my marino fourplay. Thanks

If I were to run V's again I'd defo for for SD7's
Luke Rainbird
Whilst I wouldn't say my SD7s were so good as my Ultimates, they certainly weren't far off at all. Unless you get an utter bargain on some Ultimate arms the SD7s are the way to go
