Vincy
So if you buy a second hand frame, its bound to have a few dents. But does this make it much weaker and more likely to crack/snap? is it going to be much of a problem?
davey1991
Dents are never really a problem, they wont weaken the frame unless there very large or in vunerable places, over welds or similar.
Alex Dark
They will weaken the frame to some extent...at the end of the day youre stressing a metal that's very vulnerable to fatigue. I wouldnt worry to omuch if it isn't a really compy frame, or the dents are less than 5mm deep.
sstein
I hit my frame once on the downtube and dented it. A couple of months later the downtube snapped in half for no inherent reason apart from the dent.

LukasMcNeal
Most dents will be alright, the main thing is the frame as it varies as some are weak and some are bombproof.
sstein
what was the frame, and how bad was the dent? what was it dented on? It was an Onza Limey 2, I dented after manualing towards a rail and letting the bike (without me on it) hit it not too hard. The frame did seem a bit cheese like. Vincy
if all goes well then the frame will be a zoo python, iv heard there pretty bomb proof, and there are a couple of dents, all on the downtube i think, one is pretty close to the weld near the bb but as far as i know doesnt actually touch it. Is it likely to be a problem?
