Hey guys,

Ive recently started riding again and now ive started learning side hops. Ive been practicing side hops for about a month now and i have recently done a side hop up roughly a 2ft wall, is this any good and have you got any tips for me on side-hopping?

Thanks, James.

Tis fair dude :)

Erm, compress, drop your front wheel...rip up on the bars and pull the bike into you. Also, lean into the wall :)

What i did was when i learnt was started on trying 3 pallets as when i tryed doing any less i just put no effort in and couldnt do it but when i moved to someting abit bigger it gave me the motivation to try, but this will depend if you have the same problem as me where you think things are to small to bother trying. I will also state that when i tryed learning how to side hop i could already pedel kick quite high, so if you cant pedel kick that high then i would stick with the small objects and work your way up.

Yeah, i know what you mean. I can pedal hop fairly high so that does help me with side hops, i havent tried side hopping pallets in a while, but walls i have side hopped are roughly about the size of 4-5 pallets. I think most parts of trials is to do with confidence and effort, especially side hopping and rail gaps.
