Oops, missed this thread til now, sorry...

Cheers for the photo - as has been said, it looks like a setup issue. The chain line won't be causing the skipping so don't worry about that.

Try taking a link or two out and that should solve it, try and get the chain more like this: http://tartybikes.co...spiredteam1.jpg

If you still have issues there is one final thing you can do and that will 100% sort it, although it does require a quick modification to your tensioner.

Let us know how you get on thumbsupanim.gif

Will chain is almost that tight but will whip another link off to get it right down, whats this mod to the tensioner you speak of?

I may do it as when I'm stood on the pedals and look down at the chain line you can see the tensioner poking out a bit so could do with something tweaking I reckon.

Also realised that I'm not as fit as I was 8 years ago!

Sounds just like the chain skipping on the rear cog to me.

Remove as many links as possible from the chain (might just be one looking at the pic). Another thing you could try is to modify the tensioner. un bolt it from the hanger and remove the little pin with some pliers. then push out the hanger bolt and replace the silver tophat spacer with just a pedal spacer or something that fits over. This will allow you to move the tenioner arm closer to the chainstays and lock it out so its quiet. I would be willing to bet that will fix the porblem.
