articrider65
i got some Monty 221Ti forks, and the guy i bought them off did a shit job spaying them. And i want to do a better job at it than him. They are quite scratched and look terrible.. Would it be wise to sand the scrathes out or not? Here is a pic. Thanks

davey1991
Nitromors would be much easier than sanding, then follow the above steps.

articrider65
Cheers. Im spraying them white. Would any old grey primmer do the job? Then after that any special type of paint?

Hallfords, cheap and it gives a fine finish, make sure you layer the paint at least 2-3 coats, and then LOTS of lacquer, as much as you can. mods
white primer shows up and imperfections better than grey, but yea halfords all the way. just pick your own colour from what they have. I'd say 1 primer 1 colour and 1 laquer would do just fine. Anymore than that and you may as well just buy new forks.

davey1991
No problem, post your resulst? I want to see how you do. If you paint them satin or matte black, you wont need to lacquer them.

Well, you could get some finer sandpaper and some wet and dry, and then polish them?

davey1991
Their getting there, little bit more elbow grease and some even finer paper you can quite literally turn them into a mirror.
