onzyman
Hi There. I have recently been re-building an old onza T-Rex and couldn't help but notice how much play there is in the top half of the headset. (you cant really notice it on the bottom) I have little experience with these types of headsets and as such, do not know what part of the headset it is coming from. I guess that it is probably the bearings as they are the original ones. Thanks for your help, Onzyman.

PeanuckleJive
Yeah, what headset is it? if it's fairly cheap i'd imagine it's most likely a buggered bearing, or failing that there's a part missing or the cups weren't seated very well in the frame

Martin M
I know it sounds stupid, but have you got all the parts that are pictured? If it's a sealed bearing one, you should be able to feel any play iand how rough they are once you've got them out.
davey1991
Undo both clamp bolts on the stem. Tighten topcap, test for play. Tighten both clamp bolts on the stem. If this doesn't work then your headsets broken.
