pknipster
Hi, I'm new to the forum but have been biking for many years so please go easy on me. I did search however couldn't find information on ti bolts. Do people use ti bolts for axles on trials bike? And if so do the length need to be as close to as a regular stainless/steel bolt? I measured mine to be M6x28mm but see Tarty carries M6x25mm. I want to know if it will stand the abuse of trials, I'm planning on upgrading most of the steel bolts to titanium. Al_Fel
I've got 25mm M6 ti bolts in my front and rear hub axles and I've had no problems at all. I say go for it. Edit: Just be sure to use copper grease on them so they don't seize. Edited February 16, 2010 by Al_Fel
eskimo
Will be fine. Besides, the axle takes most of the stress anyway. Regular grease will be fine also. Oh, just for peace of mind, there are a plentiful of Ti QRs available...

davey1991
More money than sense, Ti bolts are silly, but pretty.
pogo
More money than sense, Ti bolts are silly, but pretty. For what weight is saved is it really worth all that cash?
Muel
They'll be fine if you can be bothered, I've got M10 TI bolts in my rear Pro2, it saves some weight, not sure how much as I never weighed them. The M6 ones are tiny though, the weight saving over Stainless isn't much at all. I once worked it out at 100g for every bolt on a Mod, which would have me £130. I changed my grips from rubber to foam instead, saved 50g for £6, and cut some knobbles off my tires for free, saving another 150g. It's just too much money for the saving IMO.
