Ash-Kennard
have you tried taking the bolts out, putting the hub in and then putting the bolts in?
liam1992
have you tried taking the bolts out, putting the hub in and then putting the bolts in? yep they are just to chunky to fit in i think i will have to just buy a new hub but i don't want to spend money if i don't have to. Leistonbmx
I don't see how they can't fit. I thought all front hubs were 10mm axles?
AdamR28
I thought all front hubs were 10mm axles? International standard for MTBs is 9mm (which is what the Trialtechs are). The Echo bolts are 10mm which is where the issue lies... In the past we have seen people remove a bit of meat from the dropouts on the fork, that worked perfectly. As long as it's neat it won't void the warranty either, Dave is aware of the problems with Echo hubs and understands that it may need to be done. Well the hub was from tarty but it was about a year ago so that could be why ? International standard for MTBs is 9mm (which is what the Trialtechs are). Leistonbmx
Do it. Will take like 1 minute to take off 1mm. Won't make a difference either.
AdamR28
so my only option is to take a bit for the metal off of the drop outs ?? Yes, 0.5mm each side - or a new hub.
eskimo
I'd mod the hub myself, seeing as the fork's worth more n all. Edited February 15, 2010 by eskimo

Al_Fel
Yes, 0.5mm each side - or a new hub. If this man says something you do it. I'd mod the hub myself, seeing as the fork's worth more n all. The bolts that thread into the hub are 10mm so unless you don't want threads on your hub mod the forks. AdamR28
Never seen the 'hub mod' done, there's not really enough meat in the bolts...

eskimo
Just realised we're talking about an older model that sits on the bolts. I thought you meant the newer models where the fork sits on the axle...
max-t
They have been annoying me also. Get a file on the dropouts. I have an Echo TR hub (just got it) and it still doesn't fit. Edited February 17, 2010 by max-t
Greetings
The bolts that thread into the hub are 10mm so unless you don't want threads on your hub mod the forks. No, they're 6mm. Unless you're talking about the old Echo hub. I modded an SL hub to fit and it was just fine.
