Bristol Uwe

Im living in carroll court at UWE right now. Yea the halls are expensive, you just have to live with it.

Its definitely worth living in carrol court rather than the student village. Its cheaper and also right next to alot of the engineering lecture rooms. I know, Im doing Mechanical engineering myself (first years are the same I believe). Although choosing a superior house over a standard house is definitely worth it.

The only main difference between Carroll court and the student village is they have en suites all their rooms but I've found that with the variety of courses and start times, you rarely end up waiting for the shower.

Sorry the response has been structured so poorly, shooting from one point to another etc.

And yes the girls are "OFF DA HIZZOOK"

Did you have a look round last Saturday? If so, the chances are you went and viewed my friends' house. Their house is a superior house and not a standard one.

Im living at uwe too, I am in the Student village, the expensive halls, if you can afford it I guess it is worth it however I can safely say I would rather have an extra £1000 in my pocket and not have the en suite.

I know people living in both types of acc plus also off campus, it all depends on how willing you are to commute, you will be on Frenchay, the main campus, though I guess you know that, but there are houses dotted around the area if you wanted to spend a little less but dont mind traveling every day.

ahh rich no way. i was in the frenchay student bit like 2 weeks ago, dayum. the hollies is good if you are planning on using st. matts. but ive heard they are selling that and the frenchay campus, which im sure the engineering is would be alot more convenient. roll out of bed and be in your lecture in 15 minutes...

EDIT: there is a sick campus in the middle of bristol, so abit of a trek in the mornings to lectures, but really close to all the clubs, its basically the same accommodation as the student village unite thingy, but dirt cheap cos it is older and people have started to f**k it up abit :)

Its only the posh kids that create the snobbery between accommodation, there really isn't any bad views just banter. Yeah there is also market gate plus a few other housing blocks in town all a bit cheaper than campus plus there is a bus that takes 15 mins at most to get in, might be worth considering as it is a little cheaper.

As far as we know all the other campus' are being sold off apart from Frenchay the plans are huge but nothing too definite on that yet.

Any money also King C doesn't realise I have been into his house......

I spent the first year in Marketgate. Ideal for riding as its right at the bottom of castle park.

If you like going out then its a quality place to be, being so close to town. Saves paying 10 pound plus to get a taxi back. ;) Plus generally most people who have moved into houses now said they prefer being out of the student village. Mainly due to price i guess.

Sweet thank's for all the replies, to all in all it does'nt matter too much. & Thats cool, I was under the impression a bus from town took ALOT longer than that, so that's put my mind at ease a bit.

Theres 5 different uni buses each taking different routes, there is one direct one that takes 15 mins the others vary around the 40 minute mark.
