Coustellier Pads

As mentioned above, Heatsink get their pad material from the Coustelliers.

But I'm 100% sure that the Coust material has undergone a change which Michael Cosutellier apparently refuses to admit. Up until recently I had a pair of '06 Coustsinks - the wear was so slow that they lasted around 4 years and I sold them on with a brake. The rubber was so grippy that the pads stuck to themselves. In the wet there was very little difference in performance. They also had a very characteristic clicking noise when rubbed against each other.

In my personal opinion they've come from being the best pads in the world to just being very good pads. I've been through a number of different pads in the last years and nothing has come close the the performance of those "old" cousts.

They used to be utterly different compounds, three years ago. I haven't read anything or spoken to anyone who has recent experience of running both.

i ran some coustsinks few years ago they were good but the coustelliers are so much better and sound so mental PROPER HONKS :giggle:

I think the difference between getting them direct and from heatsinks are bull. Apart from the other reasons stated, has anyone thought about inconsitancies in the pad material itself?

In the past I have had pads, replaced them with the exact same pad when they wore down and they've held shit. Using the exact same set up method the only thing I could think of was inconsitancy in the material.

There are bound to be inconsitancies but they shouldn't be so great as to turn a good pad into something useless or vice versa (this isn't aimed at the Coust pads, talking generally).

Perhaps there's no point but I'm going to do a direct comparison anyway. Thanks a lot for the link guys :)
