hdmackay
Both are awesome Jack. I have the Tensile 96 and my mate has the Echo. Both hardly skip, both are very loud the Echo is slightly louder. Advantages of the Tensile is all moving parts are replaceable and you can take it apart, the Echo is welded shut i'm pretty sure so you can't replace anything. Tensile is also cheaper and uses a bb tool which you probably have at home. Echo's use some wierd ass 8 tab tool thing. However one Tensile 96 already died on me and i'm on my second but I think it could have been a faulty one or something. So pretty even. Both awesome freewheels. josh barker
tensile 96 had mine for about 5-6 month now and has only skipped once, im very pleased with the performance of mine. Tensiles are excellent from my experience and have a pretty thin base so works with a lot of setups.
Al_Fel
The SL is the much better freewheel.

Greetings
Don't know anything about Tensile but the Echo is brilliant. And on that basis, that's the freewheel I'd buy.

Mark W
I had the Tensile 96 click freewheel and it was pretty good when I had it. Only one or two skips, so pretty reliable. However, I changed from that to the SL and it is a better freewheel. Engagement's a lot crisper, it feels a lot more solid on my bike, and the extra engagements are pretty nice on really tech natty stuff. Probably wouldn't notice it as much on street, but if you do ride natural then it's pretty handy being able to get them just right for certain moves. Overall, I'd say it was worth the extra over the Tensile. They're reliable too, bearing in mind Ali's had his for quite a long time now (over 10 months) and it's still going strong. Borat
Aha ok. For reliability, I'd say tensile if good. Seeing as my 60click came off of an 07t-pro. Service it every 2/3months and still going strong than ever. And also, the lockring is welded on the echo, isn't it?
LukasMcNeal
I have an Echo tr and that is a sound as. Probably the best freewheel I've used. But then again I also have a tensile 60 which has never skipped and is about a year old and has never been serviced. I'd say get an echo tr they are cheaper and I can't fault them at all. Everyone who knows what they're on about is saying SL.
Stan Shaw
And also, the lockring is welded on the echo, isn't it? No, its removable so you can service it. The SL is the better freewheel for me. Had mine for a while now and its been perfect.
