craiggy1984
Some would say TOO fast... I strongly believe that Luke has only been riding the ammount of time he suggests, if you watch his first ever video again he has no balance at all unless he's actualy in a move, say for instance a sidehop, he's very wobbly before, and after the move, and the main thing that people learn when riding trials, just the same as i had to, is balance, so to me it does'nt seem too plausable when Luke says he's only been riding a matter of months, how long have you been riding now revolver? and what kind of stage are you at? general friendly question by the way haha Luke, i can't beleive you want to swap bikes already, you only just got that adamant off me you big oaff

Serious. I have been with trials bike for maybe 2 years now. Balance-wise, it's ok now, but not long ago it was shite Pedal up weighs in at about headset height Bunnyhop at topcap height, at least, it used to be that high. Sidehop at 3 pallets and a kerb height Gap at maybe 6" longer than bike length (which would be measured edge of tyre to edge of tyre) on special occasions, otherwise about bike length. Or, if you take today's riding as the example, then I can gap about wheelbase.

Thats not too bad fella, iv been riding about 8months or so now since i took trials back up, and im just ahead on things but not by far.... balance has recently got better, only just tried riding along narrow walls to be fair, pedal ups now are quite above bar height, 6 blue pallets or so, bunnyhops are not good as i dont tend to do them, sidehop probs about 4 blue pallets, and as for gapping, im useless lool, can gap about 6ft! i cannot do up to fronts as im originaly an old skool rider, everything was straight to back wheel to me when i was learning 10years ago haha, so nose diving onto things to front wheel then tryin to wheel swap is alien to me, but im starting to get therem have to arrange a ride soon buddy, somewhere up north, and get luke out too, and obv others

315r
I noticed that a lot of people use to reduce significantly her "ridding period" to give the impression of he is a "trial beast"......... Lot's of people do it, I have more or less this level, maybe less.. and I have been riding more than a year, and my "learning" is not to bad, although I can't train a lot, only one day a week. Maybe if you practice 5 days a week 4 hours in 3 months you can do that..... How many days do you train per week??? I ride about 2days a week maybe less due to the weather...But i havent been able to progress due to the weather and not riding that much but for some reason everytime i ride i go bigger and further like yesterday i did over bar hieght sidehop and now i can striaght to rear wheel just above bar hieght, also up to front to wheelswap over bar hieght i find that wierd because i havent been riding much at all but keep progressing everytime i ride, i have been watching my old videos and have notcied that i have dramatically improved my rear wheel balance i can now hop on to the edge of a rock and then take of instead of hopping once and power the gap threw. Anyway i wouldnt say i am good for how long iv been riding at all, personally i think i am crap but that is my opinion, i just want to get good and everytime i ride i try to push myself all the time..When it gets warmer i will be riding as much as i can so i can keep on moving forward in my proggression. you have been riding a year, maybe i am lucky some people get it striaght away some people dont thats all i am thinking ? Anyway thanks for you comments

If you have this level with more or less 20 or 24 rides you are a beast, I never saw this progression before. Maybe is that you say, you are lucky.......take the most of it now. I just watch videos and look what they do and freeze it at some points to get a general gist of the move, I learnt up to front in about 3hours and was on 5pallets at the end of the day..after about 2month riding that was, i just keep pushing myself watching videos and looking at what they do learn it on something small and keep going up and up. chris4stars
hmmm.....i reckon if you go out riding with the mindset of wanting to progress or 'train' and look at things in a very technical way, then this sort of progression is easy enough to achieve. i personally do that alot, and ride to work and back (which im guessing helps a little without realising) been riding an inspired for about 6 weeks despite the weather.. balance is pretty good id say considering sidehop to both wheels (from rear or starting on both) - probably in line or just above the top of the wheel at most just now landing to rear is still just over a foot or so bunnyhop to rear is about the same height as sidehops 3/4 hops on front 180 endos along walls both ways and just over a bike length in gaps (started those the other day) obviously there are plenty of times i dont make it! but still...i go out at least every other day with the minset that im going to learn something new...and wont stop till i know ive improved! when looking at the moves, i break them down into sections and view things in quite a clinical way. quite often set up my phone camera and see for myself what im doing wrong...it may not be the coolest - but it works for me its no doubt achieveable by alot of riders on here, just depends how you approach it i reckon Edit* and great pics btw!!
