Theo
Hi there, Got a Break Booster recently and im having trouble applying it. I have asked tarty bikes who are looking at photos of me putting it on atm to see where im going wrong, but Im after all the learning possibilities I can get does it go on top of the break clamps in the middle or on the bottom? I have been trying on the top. the problem seems to be the length of the bolts are too short or the spacers are too long, I cant get the bolt to bite on the thread of the frame probably because there isnt enough of the bolt poking out of the bottom clamp. here some pics of the problem http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/5139/67403872.jpg http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/326/88980373.jpg Thanks guys. Ben John-Hynes
Don't tighten the bolts. It'll strip the threads in your frame. Don't bother. Get longer bolts.
trials_pimp
You are instaling the Booster incorectly. Put the Brake and the clamps onto the frame, then the long spacers then the booster. http://www.echobike.com/images/0809control...R-REARBRAKE.jpg If you cant get the bolts to start then you will need longer bolts. Be careful when threading them, as its easy to strip the threads on the frame. If you need any more direction dont hesitate to ask
Ben John-Hynes
Are you using standard Magura clamps? That could be the problem

And yeah, they are all the stock ones that came with the bike so they should be standard You are instaling the Booster incorectly. NewRockCowboy
Dude just get longer bolts or you could prob get away with some slightly smaller spacers as i cant tell what clamps your using, simples. Oh and the spacers fit between the clamps and booster.
trials_pimp
Incase you are unaware, the bolts you need are M5. Length would depend on your frame, booster and spacer length, but something around 30mm is usually good.
aidanb93
you could shorten you spacers with a dremil but alot of effort for nothing realy.
Theo
Thanks to everyone who helped, the final result was that I was putting the spacers above the booster instead of below. The bolts turned out to be fine, heres a pic of the finished thing Thanks again, I have definitely learned alot by doing this! Theo
6ft-midget
I take it that the spacers sort of fitted into the clamps letting the bolts reach further. If that makes sense?
