I now need a new set but as i have never had to buy them before i dont know what effect the different lengths make. If some one could help me out i would be very thankfull. Do do do Posted February 4, 2010 Report Share Posted February 4, 2010 It sort of an add on effect to your gearing choices. Such as longer cranks will give you better leverage but will give you lower ground clearance which on a bike which is already close to the ground could cause problems. so you have to find a balance between gearing and clearance.
