alistair14
Hi, right, my rear hub ( Monty 219 ) has kinda broke. I cross threaded one side of the spindle by accident and then the problems started, couldnt tighten wheel up right and the cones kept comming loose. we've tried rebuilding it with old parts but it still isn't working. Is there any way i could make it a sealed hub? any sealed kits? or do i need a new hub comments would be great Ali
Alex Dark
It's a fairly cheap hub to start off with...so I'd just replace it to be honest. Something like an Echo TR or if you can find it an Onza T-master hub would be ideal
CC12345678910
Why can't u replace the axle? Ur LBS should have one. use one out of a 135mm if you have to. Once you unscrew the cassete (sp?) off a supermarket hub and the like they are just the same as ur 'monty' hub so pretty much anything will work. Tip though. u HAVE to use the cones (more importantly the little washers that sit around them) otherwise ur hub is buggered. I'm sure the TT sealed hub is fairly decent too.
