cornwall15
Hi there i have recently picked up a zona frame and on insprecting the bb thread i noticed that some of the threads are damaged and i believe that they can be fixed but what is the best method as i don't think i can get a tap that size so would a thread file or something work. thanks ollie

6ft-midget
How extensive is the damage? Do you have any pics? If the thread is just slightly damaged then a file should suffice but if there is heavy damage then you'll have to find someone who has a big enough Tap. Brisa
Any good bike shop will have the necessary tools to chase the thread, phone about and ask. In my experiance park tools offering cuts the deepest and more suited to bringing back damaged threads than any other I've used so if you can find a shop with one of those your onto a winner. NewRockCowboy
Any decent bike shop will have the required tap to sort out your mashed BB threads it just depends how bad they are, as said ring round various bike shops to see. davey1991
If worst comes to worst they can remove the thread completely. Which is then replaced by an insert with fresh tasty thread on it.
