Hi guys,

i am interested in getting my frame painted, its pretty scratch filled. Currently it has a coat of paint on it. A few questions here.

2. what kind of paint should i get for DIY painting?

3. Do i need to sand away the current layer of paint?

4. Is it required to strip my bike to just the frame before painting?

thanks!

I wonder what question 1 was going to be?

2 - Car paint

3 - You do if you want it to last a while, and to do a good job in general

4 - Do it anyway.

If your current paint job is scratched, then if you paint over it it will look rubbish. :)

Try theses links from the forum when stripping paint !! http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....howtopic=147337

and then this might help with the paint you need to use http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....howtopic=147522 . Happy days !

Aup

I would strip the waint off, but try and make it as smooth as possible.

Car paint would be the best stuff, but dont buy cheap stuff, if you want to do a good job that will last you need good paint.

Just a little tip : Take your time and do alot of very thin layers of paint rather that puting all the paint on at once,

This will stop it dripping at all and,

If you just put all the paint on at once then as soon as you get a little scratch it will just flake making it pointless.

Sam :D
