Stem Size?

hi anyone no where i should measure my stem from basically my bike feels weird even after 2 weeks of riding, had a go on my mates mad 1.3 thing and it feels so much easier to ride, crank to stem is roughly same sizes on the bikes my rear ends shorter but hes stem is about half inch shorter and about 2 inches higher, wondered how i measure mine to find out what ive got before i order the wrong one? i need a new stem a bit higher and bit shorter? cheers

hi guys thanks for the replies much apreciated, only prob is the stems too long for me as the bikes long too, want to get a shorter stem really, was thinking about the stacks but the steerer is short as it is and dont think it would take 10mm lol. do you reckon a 95mm stem is too short? theres an echo 115mm on tarty and what hieght would you say 20 ish degree? thanks

i just ordered a 120x20 from tartys so il give that a go, i looked at pics of 120x30 and they look well high? weird. also some new grips too, the foams look and feel ok at first but after a bit of riding they are killing my hands had a nasty gash off them other day hahaha.funny thing is when i had a go on the mad bike i managed side hops easy within 2 minutes of riding it, cant do them on the simtra... the bike just feels sooooooooooooooooooo long. :huh: think i should of learnt on a mod dph! cheers for your help matey :shifty:
