so are the black ones....i think the powers that be should ban tights in competition for the sake of the sports image. They have done it in downhill so they should do it in trials.

The top world riders wouldnt ride at their best i f they were wearing skinny jeans and hoodies? Competition riding is a completely different stlye then street and i wonder why all our street riders are bashers! Whats your perfect "riding outfit" then?

Name someone that fits that description?

Although ironically he was wearing a hoodie in a lot of those clips...

Personally I think Gilles would still kick ass wearing a Gorilla suit, skills count a lot more than clothing.

My point is who cares what he's wearing, compression clothing really does help, just like Vincent thinks those bands tied round his lower legs help him. I personally couldn't care less what anyone wears whilst riding, its what you're comfortable in. Just because a few people don't like it doesn't mean they're going to ban it. With respect to the UCI banning one piece skin suits and helmets with no peak the majority of the riders wanted it too, yes there was a small performance advantage, but the majority of the pro's had the thinking that it was effecting the image of the sport. So its a slightly different situation.

Why is EVERYONE arguing about skins....they make your overall performance better. Anyone who rides in skinny jeans, its there option to do so. I must admit it doesnt look confortable and they dont look like you can move in then, however speaking to ALOT of people who ride in them they tell me the opposite. So everyone f**k OFFFF!!

Back on topic, riding is awsome, love his upto front gaps in the last set of clips! Also love all the tech shit at koxx days!

Then you totally missed the point i was trying to make, trying to ban skin suits because they're gay to some people is as ridiculous as banning skinny jeans because they look retarded to ride in to others. Maybe you couldn't understand my southern accent either that or you took it personally.

ok..... clearing a few things up gilles coustellier is the best competition trials rider in the world right now, that means he can wear what the hell he wants ....... bubba stewart wore pink gear at a supercross but it dont matter he wins so like i said the winner can do whatever he wants if that works for him and the person that looses still looses. As for him needing a woman in his life he has one called claire she supports him greatly and has done for the last 4-5 years . Also Skinny jeans and riding dont mix they are restrictive no matter what you say in a fashion context sound but a riding context crap! if they were for sport then top man would be a sports shop and it aint!

As for the riding fantastic the whole year round and he constantly pushes the sports boundries to new levels very good rider if not the best .

Jesus Christ I wish I'd never posted the video now!! Maybe this topic should be moved to Trials Fashion?

thats my exact point!

a year ago when street videos came out and certain people were wearing skinnys just because they wanted too, they got ripped, i dont care if hes the best rider in the world, people took the piss out of skinny jeans, and the people wearing them came back with "i can wear what i want" etc and everyone who hated them said "fashion victim" or whatever, which is exactly what should be happening now, because hes wearing something so stupid aswell, my only point is that, but everyone who hates skinnys is now saying the exact same thing the street riders were saying when they brought out videos wearing JEANS, hes wearing TIGHTS, if you dont understand my point then whatever, im not gonna bother putting any more effort into my opinion lol.

skinnys do not stop you riding in any way, they do not prevent you from being flexable or whatever.

well I don't think wearing skinny jeans and compression clothing is the same thing. one is a fashion thing and the other is a performance thing. Whether you believe in the positive effect of it or not. I have skins powersox (not for riding trials) and I can tell you it really makes a difference. whereas skinny jeans do not have a positive effect on your performance for sure.. maybe the opposite. I can't tell as I have never ridden trials with tight jeans, but it's pretty obvious that it's uncomfortable.

I personally feel the high level of stress that riding trials puts on my body. So why not wearing something that helps your body regenerate and prevents you from muscle soreness? sure it doesn't look very cool. I would feel a bit awkward too wearing this stuff while riding street somewhere in the city. but if your riding in a competition or somewhere in the woods who cares about your look?! It also shows the rest of the world how serious these athlets take trials and how they work out and try to improve their performance. Ok, if bike trials wants to be part of the exremsport/funsport-movement then wearing compression clothing probably won't help very much. ;)
