monty-james
Yeah, "re-tarring" as you named it can get quite annoying, but its not like you have to stop every 5 minute. Whilst using tar in the past, ive had to re-apply some tar about every 1-2 hours, which isnt to bad considering it takes under 5 minutes. I am ze best
Got to have a grind no matter what if you want a decent brake. Tar is upto you. Try with and without.
Theo
Hi there, when people say both, does this mean grinded rims and tar, or one of each on the front and back. I hate to think what people will think when they see how stupid this question is. But where would trials be without us newbies haha

Spin the rear wheel, put a dab on, spin it again and put another dab on. 10seconds max.

monty-james
Yeah, tar is a beast in the summer though.
davey1991
Can someone sticky this topic, along with one about tyre pressure and other small stuff, so the new members can see them and we don't get asked the same thing repeatedly. In the dry tar is fine with almost any pads, when it gets wet it will kill you to death. A grind works well in both wet and dry, with the right pads.
