Revolver
Wow! That's pretty amazing. I wonder what parts you could do it with? Hopefully something bigger than just bolts.
Twitch-119
does the whole thing have to be in the water, because if you left it long enough, and got some sort of voltometer (i think) you could make the whole thing blue, then turn it up so it anodises some of it the next color in the stage, and so on. So the object is anodised in different colors according to the ammount of volt or whatever it's called running through water at the time, if that's works? and you guys get what i mean? Well one of the blokes on SDH said he'd managed to turn his Ti spring a nice shade off blue
Revolver
We know alu is anodizeable... will the same technique anodize alu too? I don't have any ti parts.
eddbmxdude
We know alu is anodizeable... will the same technique anodize alu too? I don't have any ti parts. Same technique, different materials. Very simply, to do alu you need a bath of Sulphuric acid, a bit of lead for the cathode (-ve) and the alu you want to anodise for the anode (+ve). After you've zapped it in the acid bath for 45 minutes ish, dip it in your chosen dye for a few minutes and then pop it in a pan of boiling water for half hour to seal the colour in.
