deeco
how do you remove a headset i need to switch one from my onza to my zhi
Alex Dark
I use an old aluminium seat post...insert it down the headtube, and gently tap the headset cup out. Remember to tap all the way around the circumference of the headset in order to avoid getting the headset angled and thus running the risk of flaring the tube The larger the diameter of post/tube, the more material will be in contact with the headset cup. Twitch-119
Or you could get a Rocket, from tarty if your that worried about it http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=31 bit expensive and to be honest i just used a screw driver and rubber mallet, not hammer. But if you use my method like the above comment make sure you go all round, then it just pops out. Twitch

You should use a hammer to pass on the shock, you will need a much larger force using a rubber mallet. And using a sharp steel tool to knock a thin and soft aluminium cup isn't wise. Just a round piece of tube or anything that isn't going to dig in like a screwdriver, old seatpost is ideal like Alex said.
konstant
Those are the WORST possible tools to use! I'm guessing it would make four large gouges inside the headtube, right?
Twitch-119
oh, well i have never used them just a suggestion, hammer and flatblade it is then! Twitch

Revolver
I have a rocket which is missing a prong, but it's still easier than a hammer and screwdriver.

The cups were fine a few scratches on em' here and there, and a rubber mallet worked fine, have you tried it with my method before?
