Matt Vandart
I would like peoples opinions on these forks please I have heard they are a bit snappy or tend to crack. What do you think? People that have had these forks snap on them, your opinions/experience wanted.

Andrew C
If you like having a sore face then get the sl's.
N.Wood
To be honest I wouldn't have thought you'd have many worries about snapping forks? Do many taps/hooks? I'd go for try-all but check for cracks around the of of the disk mount.
Matt Vandart
To be honest I wouldn't have thought you'd have many worries about snapping forks? Do many taps/hooks? I'd go for try-all but check for cracks around the of of the disk mount. I do use hooking techniques fairly regularly, and do taps as well but not like on a stock, more of a hitting the front wheel on a pedal up to get a bit more boost. Now I have some answers, I shall state why I am asking. I had try all forks for a while and had no problems with them but they are too short. I am looking for a longer fork now though about the length of echo SL. The only other close one I can find is Trial Tech forks but these are too heavy for my liking. so I am trying to guage the strength of SL's compared to something I have used (Try all) Hmmm........ Dale-Hill
For get about the weight get the TT there look pimp! Or find some old lites
Muel
The SL's are far weaker. Thought about Viz forks dude? I'd say try and get hold of some Echo Lites, I've had two sets and nothing went wrong with them.
Revolver
Get the 'Tray All' forks. SL forks, I recall reading topics about sets of those snapping when they weren't very old at all.
manuel
I've snapped the echo controls in under 2 months - which are the same as the sl's but without all the holes ... I wouldn't take them on as a long term fork ... My tt's are getting toward a year old and show absolutely no signs of breaking - they don't exactly weigh a ton ? Surely you can sacrifice a few grams for better performance?

Matt Vandart
Who said try all suck? They are good. I have heard they are a bit snap happy, mine were fine, no-one said they suck. For get about the weight get the TT there look pimp! Or find some old lites I'm getting old dude weight is becoming an issue for stamina. The SL's are far weaker. Thought about Viz forks dude? I'd say try and get hold of some Echo Lites, I've had two sets and nothing went wrong with them. I have some echo lites they are fab, that is how I know what sorta length fork I want, however I think the steerer is too short enough. Viz forks are my next choice I really rate viz products the issue is the same as the trial tech forks though- sloping top cap. I'm not being a weight weenie freak, I just wanna look at all my options and make a good decision.

Al_Fel
You can bang a star nut in the Viz forks you know.
N.Wood
Yeah I've run a try-all sloping topcap on Trialtechs using a KUSTOM star nut arrangement, ran that trouble free for about 3 months till my stem cracked, swapped to a normal King topcap and have run that on a TT stem for nearly a year, no probs. Mark W
Yeah, I'm running a TNN top cap on my forks now - just used the 'small' sized starnut and hammered it in. The threads are still fine above it too so if I wanted to revert back to my Trialtech top cap I can just knock the star nut down out the way then put that cap in.
