chris_m
You have to get of the subject, the xx groupset is so uber shiney, got a couple of groupsets in work and i just cant stop my self. credit card has been hidden from me. back to the topic the brakes arent going to be as powerful as the hope but alot lighter, if its weight loss ur after and light on the brakes then hell yeah avids do have a few problems as do most, i have found them a little problematic under heavy pressure braking, leaking seals, this was on the juicy ultimates with a 160mm rotor. had the carbons too and they were fantastic brakes. the elixers had a few teething problems. but not had too many too service recently so that looks like a good sign keep us informed on what you do with your brake choice
Birre
did put my frontbrake on the scale now, and it ( hope carbon ti with other hose ) is 316grams including bolts, disc and everything.. The sram brake is suppose to be 288 grams ( don´t know if that includes al bolts though) . So the difference is only 28 grams! for 270 quid i recon it´s not worth changing to a brake that does not feel and look as good as the hope brake. Anyways, just got these to fit my king hub no so i´ll earn some grams there instead: http://www.tastynuts.com/image.php?filenam...ry=000400040005
Brisa
Hi Birre Have you been able to get Ti bolts in the same fitment as Chris King fun bolts? I am in need of new bolts and wouldn't mind spending a bit more for some pimptanium! Any information you can give me on how you ordered them and what product your ordered would be fantastic! Birre
i dont know abot replacing fun bolts.. i have the bmx hub witch has some other very heavy and ugly bolts witch are non metric threads, what i have done is to make new aluminum inserts so now i can use normal m10x1,25 bolts instead.... Funbolts are quite sweet but you can not use em on tha bmx hub ao maybe they already are metric threads?
Brisa
Cheers man, I got sorted. My frame (atomz quark) uses a 12mm hole as the dropout (not vertical or horizontal) It turns out that Ducati the motorbike company uses the same thread pitch as a fun bolt it just doesn't reduce to 10mm like the fun bolt does in the dropouts. Perfect for me. Thanks for the help and sorry for going off topic.
