keggz
Validation is a protection system, to prevent spammers and scammers. Now I quoted this from a frequent forum poster, but it seems to contradict the forum rules. Let me explain. My understanding of the validation system is I have to create a thread(s)/post(s) that can be helpful or insightful to the rest of the forum readers. Correct? Now I'll tell you right now I'm a nub/noob what ever you want to call it, so I'm finding it kind of difficult to do the above for mentioned due to lack of experience in trials. I could however create a thread(s)/post(s) in an attempt to be 'validated'. However due to the lack of Knowledge I have, they would be very unlikely to be helpful, and most probably be deemed as spam by most of you. Now if my first thread or post didn't receive the required 5 votes (correct me if I'm wrong) I would have to create or post some more bullshit (do you see where I'm going here?) in an attempt to get the validation I crave. Now I'm one of those quite types that lingers around forums, soaking up as much info as possible and only posting when completely necessary. Do you see where my problem lies and the contradiction exists. Please discuss.
Luke Rainbird
It's not necessarily a case that you need to post informative posts as such so lack of knowledge isn't a huge issue by any means and posting infrequently isn't a massive problem either, as you are still able to view the full (well, pretty much full) forum as a pre-member. Provided that the posts you do make show that you're not an utter tool you will be validated soon enough - your initial post here was well thought out, written well and makes sense - it's not just a pointless mash of the keyboard like some. Hell, you've no doubt seen some of the 'tards that have made it through to the main forum; if they can do it you should have no problem whatsoever! chris4stars
you have my vote i can see where youre coming from...and im sure all the full members and moderators alike welcome anyone in NMC who doesnt create posts of any sort just to try and become validated. it may just me being cycnical...but im sure ive seen quite a few topics on problems that dont exist, or questions where the answer isnt particularly wanted! the problem though i think solves itself alot of the time...if indeed there is a problem at all?! unless a new member is wanting to sell, i wouldnt think there isnt a particular need or rush to be validated to be able to post in the regular area...if i can try and explain myself; any good questions or even minor queries can be made in the NMC which would be regularly be checked by all full members who would be happy to answer, and if the question is well put and shows youre not a tool - a vote too! any knowledge of sorts that would be usually used in a post in the full members area usually has an opportunity to come out in NMC. you must have seen the huge amounts of repeated daft questions posted there! lots of chances to be seen as someone well worth validating with a post like that, you should be sorted anyway

Thats exactly what i did you have to read to understand then when another post comes along on the same subject with punctuation and capital letters you can give an answer then "da daaa" validation!! But i can see your already useing them Edited January 17, 2010 by Laurence--Trials
Tamnessâ„¢
If Laurence--Trials got in then I reckon that you can too. I mean your post seems to be well thought out and you do raise a good point but no system is ever flawless is it. Have my vote and good luck. Revolver
Reyy, I voted for you dude, and you got validated. I voted, cause you seem to be able to construct at least a coherent sentence and argument, and have a grasp of grmmar that is at least basic. That is all that I look for before validation. Sadly, a lot of people in NMC don't do it.

But with the meaning of it, I couldn't agree more. People are just voting 'cause they can, not because they feel that they should.
