Revolver
Long or short? I wouldn't mind a short one, very nice feeling bike. As far as the long goes, I haven't ridden one for a LONG time, but I seem to recall it was good. It's only my opinion though. The guy's who it is, really didn't like it. He's a bit special though... hence the pink username. Edited January 17, 2010 by Revolver

Mark W
A long frame would definitely help you out. I'm about your height and much prefer mod to stock. Could get a longer/taller stem too (e.g. Try-All Oversized), and maybe something like the Trialtech High Rise bars rolled forwards a bit to help eek out a bit more cockpit room. Mod rules, don't give up on it!

Luke.P
What are the advantages of riding a stock as appose to a mod? Cheers Luke
Mark W
Taps and gaps are easier. The trade off for that is that they're no fun at all to ride

trialsrider.chris
True... but because most people who are tall use a stock, according to that logic YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG. See? not here for an argument but i am quite a good rider and im not doing it wrong at all its the choice of the rider not logic. i ride comps well enough aniway so i dont care what you say to be quite honest only tryin to giv the guy some help

LukasMcNeal
Mark tells the truth. Honestly I think you need to stick with mod for longer and get the feel properly, 2 months is nothing. Im 6ft 2 and I had a low stem and felt cramped, yet the other day I bought the trialtech race which is higher and now I feel fine.

Revolver
Revolver, I don't know if he's mentioned it, but Chris is 'quite good' and is a 'champion'. Haha, cool, good on him then lol. I guess that explains that response! There are indeed a few solutions that Luke could take, including setting up his bike better, investing in a longer mod frame, or investing in a stock, or a 24". My first suggestion was to try a stock and make sure he likes it first, which is still the best idea. Seeing as everyone is different, it could well be that he turns out to be one of the tall riders who uses a mod.
nyoli
rick koekoek is very tall and he rides mod dani comas i also tal but not as rick
LukasMcNeal
A long frame is definatley alot better for taller people because I used to ride a tpro and I was awful, Now I have a zona zip and im still awful but alot better lol.
