TROYston
Hi, i have a profile and am currently running this on a dx.... rim. All is good, but have ran into moneys . Basically I need a good 36 hole rim, has anyone got any opinions on what are good or not, I would preferbally like a drilled rim. Or is it possible to lace the 36 hole hub onto a 32 hole rim and then make it true, i build wheels so please be as technical as you like. If the hole difference is possible im going to but the rim deal, if not, im going to cry. Ta. Edited January 14, 2010 by TROYston
Revolver
Don't try doing the 36-32 build, it's possible but you ought to avoid it really.

ghostrider88
it´s not problem to lace 36h hub to 32h rim, just leave 2 holes on each side empty(empty holes should be situated against each other) and build it like you normally do. But then those two holes, im guessing next to one another would be a massive weak point?
ghostrider88
nope,it´s perfectly fine,i was riding some shite shimano hub laced this way and no problem, and profile hub is 10times stronger.

ghostrider88
i don´t have that wheel anymore, freewheel mechanism was stucked or whatever.anyways, empty holes should be against, not next to each other!

josh barker
echo urban 36h, these hold grinds so well and grind nice too, also very strong due to twice the thickness of the sides
ogre
the man speaks the truth! i'd choose to use the correct amount of spokes any day, you hub will probably take it, but it'd frustrate me, and at a guess 36spoke wheels are a bit stronger, and probably stay truer than a 32h counterpart? Filo
using the correct spoke holes to rim holes is always a good choice, its sketchy to build it missing holes, there not designed to be run like that, you said you got some money, get the correct rim to suit your hub,if you cant find what you want sell your current hub and get a 32 to suit the trials rim you want. TROYston
yes From where?, or does anyone fancy swapping shells?
Mark W
It's a lot better for the hub to build a 36h hub with only 32 spokes rather than building a 36h rim with only 32 spokes. It's definitely do-able, but it'll be a lot of hassle spokes wise and building wise, so maybe just getting either a new Profile shell or a 36h rim would be for the best... Dan6061
Yeah don't worry about the site, they have an amazing service! I've bought two rims from the before. My older one had to come from America because they had no stock in the UK. Postage was only a little bit more, and still came within the week! Even got a packet of sweets with it too. The '09 rims are so strong aswell! I've knocked mine about on so many sharp corners, and not a single dent! I run about 12psi aswell...
