Canardweb
Hello, my problem is that my HS33 is too high on my bike. Let me explain: if I just set it normally the pads will brake... on the tyre! SO I have to push my cylinders down (with an angle), and then, I need to grind my pads to set them squarely with the rim. It works, but my brake is like sh*t! If I push my wheel further in, the chain is not tensioned properly and can skip. I don't want to use a half-link. I use a Echo Control 2009 frame, with a Viz single walled rim. What can I do, I saw some try-all clamps that offered more adjustment, would that solve my problem? Please help! Al_Fel
What gear ratio are you running? I'm pretty sure the contol is designed for 18:15 That will play a big part in it. The try all clamps might help you though. You'll have to check your mounts are square though. This video should help.
bigamac
Riding mod or stock? Easier on stock but can be done on mod is using chain tensioners? Not the crappy tugs but a proper tensioner, then you can move the wheel to give you clearance
Canardweb
I am running 18:15 on a stock! Nope, the vid won't help! What I mean, is that: Edited January 12, 2010 by Canardweb
Al_Fel
Yeah sorry mate I wasn't very clear. I showed that video to you so that if you do get the tryall clamps then you can set them up square. They don't use the plastic washers like normal maggie mounts. You need to make sure your mounts are square. What chain are you running? If its quite old then it might have stretched too much. I'd suggest running a Trial-Tech lite chain. Canardweb
I run a K810 chain which is not even 5 months old. No worries about the vid, thank you very much, I just bought the clamps! EDIT: you were perfectly clear when showing that video, I just didn't read carefully! EDIT: you were perfectly clear when showing that video, I just didn't read carefully! Glad it helped. The Z610 chains seem to stretch a lot less than any other chain out there so that might help you if the clamps still don't reach. What clamps did you go for by the way? the tryalls or the TNNs? If you got the try alls you might find it helps to file the back of the clamps flat too.
Canardweb
I went for the try alls! The TNN seemed to have less adjustment... Edited January 12, 2010 by Canardweb

gage-mann
try get a new chain if the kmc you have got is a couple of months or soo old, new one wont be stretched and try a rear 16 t sprocket? them try-all clamps do give lots of sliding adjustment though
