Im just wondering thats all because im looking into buying one possibly. i would also be using Dual Disc on 19". I need following infomation if anyone rides on or rode one opinions - Advantages - Disadvantages - What it felt like for you - Ever snapped one or bent it (Broken Frame?) - Threads rip easy? Cheers for reviewing. Edited January 6, 2010 by AndyyRider
DannyBazz (:
I've only ever ridden a hydroxx but... It was really nice to ride, short, flicky, and light as feck. Lad who had it had a problem with the maggie threads, but he ran disc most of the time anyway. He's not the lightest of riders, but not harsh either, and it held up really well. I wouldn't go for the sky frames though.... if your riding street and aren't exactly smooth. They're made out of a new material, K-alone, which is for serious comp riders. So I'd reccomend the hydroxx if any
Sam Oliver
I agree with you that the Sky is for serious comp riders only, I have ridden the Hydroxx for over a year now with no problems at all IMO: a great allrounder bike that can take a bit of abuse but also light enough to be a great comp bike aswell. Also you have a choice of wheelbase with the hydroxx Sam.
Toby
personally if your looking for something short/high bb and dual disc go with a manus alot cheaper, price of the sky frame is retarded (and i ride a white sky ) though saying that the hydroxx is a brilliant frame just depends if you want a lower bb
Vortexor
Yeah im interested in the Hydroxx frames now they seem very good standards and yes ill be riding street and rocks.
Simpson
Depends on how much money Daddy has! I think all top end bikes are incredibly over-rated, yea it may get you those extra couple of inches but is it really worth it for a grand more? No! Out of interest what are you reasons for justifying buying such an expensive bike? Edited January 4, 2010 by Simpson
Rob.
I`d go for a Rockman manus , Good geo , probably stronger then a koxx , but if you dont want manus go for hydroxx. Edited January 4, 2010 by Rob.
max-t
Like what has already been said, you don't really want to be buying a Koxx if you're going to be riding street on it on a daily basis. They are comp orientated frames and are not designed to take massive stress and abuse. If you were looking at running dual disc, then go for either a Zoo Lynx, one of those new Rockman Manus (havent tried one but Rockman make good stuff) or one of those Speed fans frames. Mark W
I'm sure it'll be fine, but the Rockman disc mounts look a bit weaker than I'd like. The Koxx ones seem a bit more reinforced, whereas the Rockman ones are just a bit minimalist, really. Those Hydroxx's's's's''s's do ride really nicely too, so ride-wise they're probably a good choice. Unless you're a comp rider I'd steer clear of the Silver Sky though, it's probably just a bit too much of a gamble in terms of strength. At least with the Hydroxx you know you're getting a slightly stronger frame that should stand you in good stead. Regarding the justification of frames/bikes like that, why not? Some people really like bikes, so if they want to spend money and tinker with their bikes/tweak them/try out new stuff, why not? Same as people who are into cars buying different cars, modding them, tweaking them, and so on. It's a pretty normal thing to do, so why not? Even if it's "Daddy's money" to quote someone up there, what does that really matter?

Maybe Daddy could buy them a nice computer/TV/console instead of spending money on a bike that won't last as long as the cheaper alternative? Al_Fel
Maybe Daddy could buy them a nice computer/TV/console instead of spending money on a bike that won't last as long as the cheaper alternative? Maybe... why is it such a concern to you? I've got a f**king belter of a bike that I hardly ride. I like bikes and I like new things for my bike so I'll spend money on my bike. There's not need to moan about mummy and daddy buying kids posh bikes as long as they appreciate them. Who gives a shit? Its not your money is it? Al_Fel
This isn't about the money its about the Frames. Anyways im interested in the koxx hydroxx not version 2 just Koxx hydroxx seems good. Im not buying brand new just 2nd hand. need some more infomation on it opinions on what people think. Well said I'll just shut up ha ha Have you had a look at this bad boy...http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=11094&category_id=10 I'm sure it wouldn't be too much hassle and expense to get it upgraded to dual disc and you'll get a brand new bike with a warranty. The hydroxx frames are pretty solid anyway mate and I personally would go for one over a sky.
Ben John-Hynes
need some more infomation on it opinions on what people think. Yeah, don't buy a 2nd hand koxx.
Vortexor
Yeah, don't buy a 2nd hand koxx. Whats wrong with buying a 2nd Hand Koxx Hydroxx
Ben John-Hynes
They crack pretty fast from new, so 2nd hand, it won't last long at all!
Vortexor
What Koxx you mean? All of them or just the sky frames or hydroxx ??
Ben John-Hynes
Pretty much all of them. All of the newer ones anyway, Levelboss' were bombproof. So in conclusion, they're a comp frame so they're fairly weak and don't last too long.

nyoli
I've had an hydorxx 20" and the frame lasted 9 months, then it broke. It was the first version of the frame. Since 3 weeks ago I was riding a hydroxx 2 26", and it also broke. I rode her since march 2009. Both frames didn't have any dents, they broke because of the use. If I were you, I wouldn't go for a sky. I would go for a echo lite, an echo team, a zoo lynx or a rockman manus
Vortexor
Yeah its come to my senses that Koxx are no good for things that i will use the frame for so i might aswell buy rockman frame or something around it for Dual Discs Im also wondering why the Zoo Lynx disc mounted frames are more expensiver than the 4 bolt because 4 bolt is more popular so wouldn't you have thought they make the 4-bolt one more pricey to make a profit?
