DannyBazz (:
Right, so I'm after an iphone. There are ones on ebay for about £230, but I'm sceptical about buying them because they're from America. Are they trustworthy? And will there be anything different with the phone, because it is American, not British? Also, they say the phone is unlocked, but with it being American and that, will my Orange sim still work? cheers, Danny x

JT!
Unlocked phones should work with any sim anywhere. My unlocked Nokia worked with an orange sim and an at&t sim, so it should work the other way round. You might have issues with the date (month before day) but i'm basing this on a run of the mill phone, not an iphone which is practically a computer so there might be a setting to change all that. The charger will be american so you'll have to buy an adapter or a new charger.

Cheers Ahh, just seen on the listing... they won't send it as a gift, so I will have to pay tax on it, and it will probably work out more expensive than buying one from Britain
StevenJJ
I bought a first gen jailbroken Iphone from America when they first came out over there before you could get them in Britain. It worked no problem on vodaphone and o2, only issue was if you updated the phone on the computer apple froze the phone but I'm not sure if this still happens. Also there was no problem with tax or that from posting from America. Edited January 2, 2010 by StevenJJ
that NBR dude
I would check its actually an Apple iPhone. Theres an imitation phone in America, which is always advertised on ebay as an iPhone, so make sure you can garantee 110% that it is a genuine Apple iPhone. The fake ones are turd. Danny
Also remember an iphone is pointless unless you have an unlimited data tariff/bolt on.
