J Trials 31
As it says, my comp is lacking in watching vids in HD. Slow and choppy. What do I need to do so I can watch high-quality vids better?

DannyBazz (:
Upgrade ram, internet speed? Not too sure on this And for the full experience you need HD cables, and a HD ready monitor, if you don't have these already
J Trials 31
Just got a basic netbook 160g hardrive 1g of ram. I'll probably need to upgrade the ram anyway, 1g isn't a whole lot nowadays.

J Trials 31
I would say your onboard graphics cant handle hi def. Yeah, I probably figured. It is a pretty small netbook. Wonder if I could upgrade the graphics? I know I have the option to get at least another gig of ram.

I know I have the option to get at least another gig of ram. Very unlikely and it's not really worth it since there's not really much decent graphics for small netbooks anyway and upgrading graphics on them is too much hassle as with most other laptops. Upgrading ram probably might help a bit, might as well add an extra 1-2gb anyway, 1gb is just silly these days.
aener
If it's one of these tiny things with the 80% sized keyboards, you might well be able to - but I'd say it's not worth it. I doubt you can - but I don't wanna out-right say so, and get proven wrong Can upgrade the CPU and RAM in them, but that's about it. They're not made for watching HD videos, which is why it can't handle them.
J Trials 31
Alright, I'll look into upgrading the ram and look around at what else I can do. I know it's not made for watching HD vids, but I sure love the size even compared with other laptops.
Luke Rainbird
Ignoring computer specs, are you sure you have all the right codecs installed?
J Trials 31
Ignoring computer specs, are you sure you have all the right codecs installed? Yeah, should be fine there bro, it plays it's just choppy, and it works on my dad's laptop. It has 2gb of ram so hopefully when I upgrade it will be a little better anyway. Jan Tore
Upgrading notebooks is just stupidly expensive and so not worth it. Those laptops are so cheap these days, that the difference between upgrading and buying a decent laptop isn't that big.
LordMersey
A HD screen might help in the quality.

Fish-Finger-er
right, assuming your netbook runs the gma 950 chip, you need to buy something like this broadcom PCI-e card. otherwise if youve got an ION based netbook, if its web based, use flash 10.1 if it supports it, otherwise, dont bother. if its downloaded, get coreavc installed, currently play 720p hd back on my netbook at like 25-35% using wmp.
