Rob L
I got a brand new echo control frame for christmas and when I tried to put the chain on it was too short for it to meet so I put in two extra links and the chain was then too slack even at full tension. I decided to use a half link which worked fine for 4 days:( By the way I run a KHE colapse chain and have 18 to 15 gear ratio. What should I do? dandadude
What exactly didnt work? You should be able to make the chain to a length that when the adjusters are as short as possible the chain is just a bit slack and then when you adjust them out it should take out that slack. And if you added a half link and its now stetched and is too long then take out that halflink or even a whole link and it should be short enough. I don't think you'll find a stronger chain than a KHE. Edited December 30, 2009 by charliemod

Rob L
Thanks for the comments guys. Just wondering though does anyone have a echo control 09 and have 18 to 15 gear ratio and have a chain that they can reccomend?
Mark W
no i dont want a whole new chain just one half link and they only usually sell them as a full chain If you know any BMXers, chances are one of them will run the Interlock chains. If not, could always phone up a few BMX shops that are proper shops (not just a mail order, so they might have to fit some chains to customer's bikes) and see if they've got a few links spare somewhere. Worked for me! If you need a split link there's a few on ebay EDIT: Can't find any khe ones though Split link: Half link: shadow interlock bare strong They're alright, but they stretch like buggery which ultimately weakens the chain. Best off trying to get a spare link or two, then run a 'normal' chain and run one of them in it. You'll have to run a 510 or a 710 to use one though, 'cos the 610 and 810 are 3/32 and the Shadow chains aren't.
Revolver
It turns out that the difference in chains is in the little metal spacer in the middle. Therefore, if you take a slim KMC kool chain, the 810 I think, and take the slim spacer from one of the links you take out, you can put this in the half link in exchange for it's thicker one, meaning you've got a half link to fit your chain It works, I've done it
