How cold has it gotten dude?

I was in Aberdeen up til about a week ago, and at worst it made it to minus 6. My maggies were fine all through the bad weather we've had this year, it's me that doesn't work properly in the cold :P

Living in the highlands, its gonna be pretty cold all the time, and considering the weather at the moment, at night I reckon it's gonna be pretty ducking cold. It was -3 here the other day I think...

I moved my bike into my house so the brakes don't freeze :P

EDIT: I run water, no anti freeze or anything. Best thing to do is to leave your bike inside, and when your out riding keep pulling the lever in and out to prevent it freezing.

Works for me anyway :)

your saying it was -30 in scotland? haha.

It'll probably freeze at like -14/15

If it freezes at -15ish then its quite possible that it did freeze. I registered a -16 in work at the lowest earlier in the year, and its felt so much colder this last week, so up in Inverness, maybe man, maybe.

-30C(-22F) is listed as the freezing point for mineral oil. Due to viscosity (how thick the fluid is, basically), however, it's lowest useful temperature is considered to be 10C (50F).

must be pretty cold up scotland, or you cant remember putting water in you brake.

why does anyone bleed there brakes with mineral oil anyway it feels awfull

Wow, you guys think you got it bad in the UK. Try living in Canada. Last January we had many days where it didn't get warmer than -30 in the day time, without windchill! Our water heating system exploded last winter because it was working so hard to keep the house warm.

Was in the car 15 mins ago and the thermometer said -9 lol!! Im still puzzled why my fluid bleed is freezing. Its cold but still! Im not wrapping up like an eskimo to keep warm!

UNLESS SCOTLAND IS COMING INTO ANOTHER ICE AGEE!!

Put a thick bed sheet or something over your bike when its in your shed/garage. I've got water bleeds and they've never frozen since I started doing that.

Or just bring it into your kitchen over night.

not being funny but sheets keep you warm by insulating you and keeping your heat in, if you put a sheet on your bike at night it won't do anything
