Just buy new pads and keep your brake.

craigjames
If it was a decent vee, yes. But that is a shit vee so, no. If someone has an SD7 to swap then yeah. You do tend to talk out of your arse a lot, have you ever used a deore vee set up? Tend to be one of the best. Clue up or shut up.Personally i would swap but you'll need to buy some maggy/vee adaptors, so the extra cost could be an issue. My vee is great on my 24" and was pretty damn good on the 26", with the salsa carbon booster on it the hold was ridiculous. However my current magura set up is the best brake I've ever used. If the vee ends up costing you more then stick with your maggy as you've just got it, try some different pads if you want, see how it works, someone will always swap or you can buy a vee at a later date if you want to try it. Clue up or shut up.Hahahaha! Love it.I'd go for the swap. V's are under rated. And the deore is a solid, no nonsense bit of kit.
Endohopper
Deore arms are just fine , though I'm not fond of the levers .
willdudeXD
v adaptors? what frame you got? or if you have 4-bolt mounts get some clamps rather than using the ones supplied with the brakei have v- posts(mad phase 1.3) it already has v's...but the caliper arms bend like mad!!i tried some kids onza rip with v's today,. thats what inspired me to swap, the felt so light, and nice, i cant even explain it, maguras feel kinda spongy to me.. even factory bled Edited December 28, 2009 by willdudeXD
willdudeXD
Deore arms are just fine , though I'm not fond of the levers .yeah the levers are horrible, thats why im gunna get sd7 OR speed dial levers im going to use it for a bit, might do the swap after a while..im just going to take the caliper and sell the brake to him, buy the rest with the money :
Mark W
Whenever a swap happens, someone gets f**ked. It's never an even/fair swap, because if it was, what would the point be? As a result, all you have to think is "Is he f**king me over, or am I f**king him over?"If what you're swapping is literally just a white HS33 with standard black pads and some/no clamps, for all the stuff he's got, then you are fully winning. That would probably be a reasonably good V setup straight away, and you could get some slightly better V-brake calipers for not much £'s and have a pretty kingly brake for very little hassle. It's probably worth doing
