Mikey-uk
Heya, I wanna go dual disk but the Chris King bmx hubs dont have rotor mounts on them. Is there any way to mod the hubshell and get rotor mounts? I'd love to keep the hub but as i'm certain I wanna go dual disk I might have to get rid of it. Headley
£53 with free shipping.....ISO Disk Hub Shell Edited December 28, 2009 by Headley
Mikey-uk
Will this fix on a bmx hub though? It says it requires chris king hub service tool to install the internals, is this actually required?
Headley
It isnt required, it is possible to use a hammer and a punch but you have to be carefull. Also tarty can take apart your hub and change the shell for £10.

Headley
Just double check with them that the hub shell will fit
Mikey-uk
Emailed tarty, gotta wait till past the 30th for a reply though, anyone else got any input for this?
Al_Fel
It can be done but the king hub spacing is closer to the chain stay so depending on your frame you might have to make an adaptor to get the caliper to fit between the mounts and the frame. This might help too.http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=75365
Mikey-uk
Hmm this is all starting to look like too much effort, surely if its a 110iso hub shell I can run cams inside the frame and if its 116iso hubshell then I'll just stick the snailcams on the outside of the frame? None of the messing about and making adaptors?
Al_Fel
The bmx axle isn't designed with a disc in mind so when you put a disc hub shell on its too close to the disc mounts to get a caliper in.
Mikey-uk
Hmm this all seems like too much hassle to be honest, I think i'll just stick rear maggy.
Mark W
Or you could do a Stan Shaw and sack off your King for some mega-click front freewheel setup?
Mikey-uk
Or you could do a Stan Shaw and sack off your King for some mega-click front freewheel setup? I was thinking of doing this as I prefer the feel of ffw compared to rear king but I side hop to the left and as atm i've only just learnt side hops I still somtimes fail things knee height. I've landed on the chainsidehop stays a few times and don't want to mash the disk.
