Heat Treated Frames

All alu frames must be heat treated. Welding alu heats it up and causes it to become brittle. Heat-treating sort of equalises this effect, so that then the whole frame is the same in terms of strength and brittleness.

Alu frames that break are either designed weakly, ridden too hard, or manufactured wrongly.

oh right i supose its because there aluminium, most heat treated bmx fames are cro-moly
