has anybody used ESI chunky grips for trials? I have a pair on my rigid single speed XC bike and love them, I have a second set that I will be putting on my ZHI the next few weeks when I build it up.

they are a nice silicone grip that feels just like foam but stays put in the wet and won't spin no matter how hard you pull on them

Rockman foam grips man... thats when you'l never look back :o

there soo good :)

I had them, wore out faster than my TrialTechs, thinner and not as comfy! I've had several pairs of TrialTechs now, I'll never look back.

People sometimes have trouble getting them to stick to the bar. They have some kind of waxy layer inside them, take a pan scourer with washing up liquid and roll it up and use that to scrub the insides of the grips, then clean the bar with something, then inflate them to get them on. (There's intructions in the wiki I think).

My Rockmans were absolutely appalling! Didn't even last 2 rides before they started to rip and were unusable. Nowhere near dense enough, after an hour they had squished so much where I gripped that they had no cushioning left.

Trialtechs on the other hand... a much firmer and denser grip. A very tight fit on my Trialtech bars which means they don't slip, great grips!

Trialtech grips are definitely good, but only as long as you don't really mind medium/thick grips. I hate anything wider than an atom thick so I generally run something like the Rockman thin grips or Monty grips. Try-All foams are reasonably good too, a good in-between size between the Trialtechs and Montys/Rockmans.

There was a batch of grips which had a slightly over-sized inner diameter compared to what Dave wanted, so they still worked but didn't take to bars as well as the old/current ones do. All the ones in stock with us are the 'proper' diameter, and they should be everywhere else TT grips are sold (Y)
