I have taken the trucks off my old fracture deck (I used to be a wood lover) and I shall be hitting the snow tomorrow.

I also made a binding on the front out of some rope and covered the area in masking tape to make it smooth :)

EDIT: Here's a picture (sorry for awful quality)

...not that there's much to see other than a plank of wood and a bit of rope.

Use an old innertube man, that way you can get it nice and tight over yer foot.

That binding is a well good idea haha, on the proper snowskates, the grip is made out of foam so that the snow doesnt stick to it, but you still get good grip with your feet

I just took the skate griptape off and stuck down a little sheet of foam on the tail for my back foot :) works good

I spent ages trying to make one of those things with plastic runners for direction. It basically wouldn't move fast enough. A plain skateboard deck is probably the way to go for a simple one, but don't expect to turn! In that video, I didn't see any turns anyway?

I've seen a few people using those things and properly ripping. Carved turns and bombing down a hill. Looks pretty sketchy at high speed but fun!

In my town it snowed 20cm :D:D:D

When I ran up my hill (south downs) with my snowboard in the morning, I saw 3 kids snowskating... I got bored instantly as I had a snowboard, it looked great fun though!

Pics of me snowboarding :
