monkeyseemonkeydo
Does look quite fun although the actual snowskate boards have those ribs on the bottom to improve directional stability compared to a standard skate deck. Lord Banks
I tried a bit of Snowkiting the other day like, fairly similar only you're attached to a powerkite. It gets good from about 28 seconds -
aener
Cripes. That must be so damned hard.Boarding with the hard bits of snowboarding, AND skateboarding
Lord Banks
Its not that hard normally, like on wet sand of grass, but i just got owned trying it on the snow, i was just using one of my old Mountainboard decks and a kite that was far to big for the conditions, all good laughs though. Guest
I have taken the trucks off my old fracture deck (I used to be a wood lover) and I shall be hitting the snow tomorrow.I also made a binding on the front out of some rope and covered the area in masking tape to make it smooth EDIT: Here's a picture (sorry for awful quality)...not that there's much to see other than a plank of wood and a bit of rope. That binding is a well good idea haha, on the proper snowskates, the grip is made out of foam so that the snow doesnt stick to it, but you still get good grip with your feetI just took the skate griptape off and stuck down a little sheet of foam on the tail for my back foot works good

Tomm
I spent ages trying to make one of those things with plastic runners for direction. It basically wouldn't move fast enough. A plain skateboard deck is probably the way to go for a simple one, but don't expect to turn! In that video, I didn't see any turns anyway?I've seen a few people using those things and properly ripping. Carved turns and bombing down a hill. Looks pretty sketchy at high speed but fun! NVWOCI WVS
Whern it snowed last year, I used an old longboard deck, which worked much better than a standard skate deck. I reckon it had more directional stability due to it's length. Loads of fun though! Edited December 22, 2009 by NVWOCI WVS
Bearded Midget
ive been doing this these last few days, mega fun! had some bad stacks though, not very nice when the board decides to change direction on you
