Matt Vandart
Was wondering if the kamel frames are as snap happy as the rumors suggest. Also is it just the mod and is it, IYO the bash mount causing it?
LukasMcNeal
Was wondering if the kamel frames are as snap happy as the rumors suggest. Also is it just the mod and is it, IYO the bash mount causing it?My friend has one and he has had it for a while and it hasn't snapped, but he doesn't usually go to bash. Also the only tine I've seen a snapped one was in the bike pics thread thingy.
trialsmax04
if your worried about snapping one, it may be an idea to get the older style 221ti frame. Im pretty sure the geo is the same on them, its just the kammel has a lower stand over. Mine rode really well, i miss it abit

Im pretty sure the geo is the same on themNah, the Kamel's have a longer wheelbase and higher BB. They are a compy frame though so if you aren't very smooth or use your bash a lot then they won't last long...Having said that, Don't forget the 220 Kamel. I had my 221Pr for two years in which I used it in comps, on the street and generally abused it and it's still going strong with a second owner now. Seems like the top of the ranges are built silly light and so not as strong and the next one down (Pr or now the 220) can take a beating. Dan S
well, I had 221 pr and I went to bash pretty much because I was a newbie - the chainstay snapped.THen I had kamel (white one) - After 6 months it snapped on the downtube near the bash mount. At the end of the year I found another crack in the chainstay-toptube-seat post joit. Now I can rip it off with my hands Can't say red frames are much stronger After all this I would like to have trust in monty, but I cant(

Dan S
white has no reinforcement on the downtube near the bash mountRed one has. That's the difference.
monkeyseemonkeydo
How will the colour make any difference?! LolThey were basically two 'marks' of the frame: Mark 1 was white, mark 2 had a few tweaks and was red.
Rob Brodie
...mark 2 had a few tweaks and was red.its meant to ride similar to a stock for dani comas (his signature bike)

Matt Vandart
Well actually my post wasn't worded very well. The actual question I am asking is are the stocks as snap happy?Leading to the question is it the bash mount that is causing it? nyoli
26s don't brake as much as the 20s, they resist much more; but, obviously, they aren't as unbreakable as adamantsI'm form near Barcelona, and here lots of people ride montys. I know about many people how have broken 20s, but I only know about a guy who broke a
ogre
it could be the type of rider and style that mod riders have. by not having a bashplate your usually a bit more delicate when landing...
