Kamel

Was wondering if the kamel frames are as snap happy as the rumors suggest.

Also is it just the mod and is it, IYO the bash mount causing it?

My friend has one and he has had it for a while and it hasn't snapped, but he doesn't usually go to bash. Also the only tine I've seen a snapped one was in the bike pics thread thingy.

if your worried about snapping one, it may be an idea to get the older style 221ti frame. Im pretty sure the geo is the same on them

Nah, the Kamel's have a longer wheelbase and higher BB. They are a compy frame though so if you aren't very smooth or use your bash a lot then they won't last long...

Having said that, Don't forget the 220 Kamel. I had my 221Pr for two years in which I used it in comps, on the street and generally abused it and it's still going strong with a second owner now. Seems like the top of the ranges are built silly light and so not as strong and the next one down (Pr or now the 220) can take a beating.

well, I had 221 pr and I went to bash pretty much because I was a newbie - the chainstay snapped.

THen I had kamel (white one) - After 6 months it snapped on the downtube near the bash mount. At the end of the year I found another crack in the chainstay-toptube-seat post joit.

Now I can rip it off with my hands ^_^

Can't say red frames are much stronger <_<

After all this I would like to have trust in monty, but I cant(

26s don't brake as much as the 20s, they resist much more; but, obviously, they aren't as unbreakable as adamants

I'm form near Barcelona, and here lots of people ride montys. I know about many people how have broken 20s, but I only know about a guy who broke a 26

jakes has snapped , on the doentube , hence he hasent rode in like 3 months :/ .. no comp bikes are made for a hammering , koxx and montys are like disposable bikes , there nice if your rich or sponsored and can get a new one every few weeks ..
