sstein
wudnt it just be best to use dot 4 ?never use dot fluid for a magura as they are designed for mineral oil and dot fluid will rot the seals. Anyway if you could use dot fluid why not use dot 5.1 instead of 4?

315r
Here in Spain some people are talking about Shimano brake fluid "Red one" That seems like it's more liquid than Maguras royal blood.Because I'm not interested to bleed my system with water, this solution can be good one. What do you think?Somebody have test this brake fluid for HS33?? Mockett
but when water freeze's it expands shurly this will damage the brakes

bikeperson45
but when water freeze's it expands shurly this will damage the brakesYeh that was my thinking, and when it melts would the stuff be looser?
Mark W
but when water freeze's it expands shurly this will damage the brakesYeh that was my thinking, and when it melts would the stuff be looser? The water expands and just pushes your pads out slightly. No harm done There's not really all that much fluid in your brakes, so there's not really much to expand meaning that even if it full-on freezes it'd be no different than squeezing your brake lever a bit.For the antifreeze, you only need a bit because again there's not much water. Once it's bled with water, it should be pretty easy to bleed a bit of antifreeze into the system if you've not done it already.
leotrialp
Hi i just waterbleed my Back brake and i was wondering do you have to put antifreeze or di icer in ? thanks Jackremember than the antifreeze is more corrosive than the water, so, i don´t think than that can be a good idea... Antifreeze is not more corrosive than water.Anyway, what the people think about Shimano brake oil? I'm going to create a topic in members chat talking about that.
