"Well then find another site like ebay an go buy a bike off there"

I take it you havent got anything in the for sale section then............

"this site isn't just about using it to buy off"

I know its not but i personally prefer not to use ebay and i'm pretty sure most people on this forum would rather not deal with ebay due to stifling eblag fees, being forced into using paypal and getting let down by "e"blaggers.

"it's so people can talk about bikes an ect"

Yes, i kind of figured that. Its a good job then that i have been involved with bikes since i started racing bmx when i was 6 in 1984 racing all over the country and europe till i got involved with mtb's in 92, started riding xc but it was lets just say a bit on the boring side after coming from a pro bmx background. So had a break then found downhill, raced that for 10 years along with bsx and riding trails up till 3 years ago when i was 28.........so you want to talk about bikes then do you?

"So thats your problem go fix it"

I'll remember that when you have a problem of your hope mini not bleeding up properly, or you've snapped the v brake mount off and you need it drilled and re-tapped or you need some gussets tig welded onto your frame for cheap so you can do that '16 foot' drop onto flat in the knowledge you arnt going to snap the rear chainstay or headtube.

Oh and everyone that has been nice to me thankyou, i will help whenever i can even you and i'm glad i'm not your dad trying to get you a bike for xmas.

You can simply click on the guy who's selling the bikes name and it'll bring up a page with his details on. Then you can email him from there, or add him to msn etc. Then Tiny Tim can have his bike and the admin of this forum will be visited by 3 ghosts and they'll teach him they need to scrap the validation system around Christmas.

I wish it was just as simple as clicking on the profile and sending an email. I have been trying for weeks to buy via this method but get very few replys. It seems that the members here prefer to use pm's which as a newby we are unable to do. I have now purchased a rear Magura from this site from someone who did respond to an email, so it is not a hopeless task, however I could have been riding much earlier had I been able to contact members via a reply to the thread.

I, like probably everyone else on this forum am a member of many other forums and find them an invaluble source of information, and have already gained a lot of knowledge and information from reading old posts and asking a few questions. I have not come accross the validation procedure that you have here on any other forum and as a guest do not wish to question the reasons behind it, as these are the rules and it seems to work for the members of this forum. However would it be possible to put forward as a suggestion, that new members could be allowed access to the PM messaging or for sale side of the forum, as genrally people who are hoping to take up the sport are looking to buy equipment to get started.

Please don't take this as a gripe, I accept the rules as they are and am just happy to take part, but I do understand the frustrations of a new member.

This site is ridicoulous how is it fair that this guy has been validated after one post when i've been waiting patiently and posting sensible stuff for past few weeks and as far as i know have not got one vote?. Seriously this site is sposed to be welcoming to new members so far all you've done is make me feel small and left out in this poor excuse for a section.
