Stevie
Hi guys,After riding for about 5 months i have came to a point where i need a pointer on what kind of stuff to try next. I'm not saying in any way that i have perfected what i can do and i am aware i can get higher and further already but i just wondered if anyone could suggest anything. I ride pallets 80% of the time. What i can do so far - To backwheel 5-6 pallets.Sidehop 5 pallets.Gap my height (about 5" 11)Gapping from like post to post (if you understand me) at a low height. And i have set up a few "lines" with pallets including most of these things. What should i try next ?Thanks

willis-gu
Maybe try front wheel gaps, just a normal gap but landing front wheel first, then throw it too back wheel like a wheel swop.Or what about going upto front, say from the floor, your riding in and bunny hopping up, however land on your front wheel on the edge of say 4/5 pallets, shifting your weight forward and leaning right over the front end, then switch it to back wheel, again like a wheel swop. You could also try riding along thin objects to improve your balance, such as rails or wooden planks. cam217
i use to think going to front was scary, so i started of just front gapping one pallet to one pallet then making the gap bigger, yeah sure i had a few incindents involving my stem on some other parts of my body, but once i built up some confidnece i made the gap smaller but started gapping up to 3 then 4 then 5 pallets and so on and so forth. Stevie
Just had a little play in the garden to see how things went. I can make it to front but i get no more than 8 inches off the ground and only about a 1 foot gap lol, I guess practose makes perfect though eh. bikeperson45
Use Trashzen as a checklist, that'll give you lots to do.And just ride, if you see something you think there's a good chance you could do, go for it

Lord Banks
Maybe get out and ride some natural or street. You can't move stuff around like you can with pallets. This way, you'll spot something and you'll have to ride it 'as is' rather than thinking "i can't make that, i'll lower/shorten it" etc.

But don't don't just ride pallets all the time, ride some natural and your confidence will increase

Matt Burrows
Sack off the pallets, thats probably the best thing you can do. Go ride with new people in new places, nothing will help you improve more

JT!
I find that people who ride pallets are generally shit at natural, so go ride some rocks and / or natural lines.
Stevie
Thanks, i hope to ride more street kinda stuff and i do live fairly close to matlock so might be worth trying a bit of natural.Been pallets again tonight but it was around -3C and it was like going ice skating which even when riding it was hard to find the motivation try new stuff. I did get very very close to sidehopping 6 pallets but the cold got the better of me and i went home Also tried some "to front" stuff, i was only doing 1 pallet to 1 pallet and managed to get about 1 ft more than my bikes length. I filmed me side hopping 5 pallets just to show you how i ride, its only a tiny clip but never uploaded anything before so why not. Thanks for your help guys
