terry26rims
I don't know if anyone else has only one bike? I do. That being my 22:18 ratio'd Flea 4 Trials bike. In good weather i've used it for some fun on the way home from work which by google maps is 4.9 miles away, i've done this in 34 minutes, my quickest so far. There is a mix of inclines and declines and flats. Is this a ok time or could some of you easily do it quicker? What kind of speed can you get up to (in short frequent bursts) on your trials bike? Muel
27mph average? On a fixie? Through london I presume? Not a chance Glen. I know this because a really fast time for a 10 mile time trial is just into the 21min mark, and only a few people my Dad knows can get that. (Anyone heard of Will Wright? Used to ride for Wales? He often gets 21s.)
Fixed Pants™
If i spin spin i top out at 34mph, i seriously did it in 11 mins, not sure on exact but i looked at my phone when i left, and i looked at it when i got there...It was around my part of london which is much more rural...http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sour...mp;t=h&z=18That's the route, ok so it was 4.7miles... monkeyseemonkeydo
So if you left at 12:00:00 and arrived at 12:11:59 that makes it 23.5mph average which is a bit more feasible...

TROYston
I used to ride 5 (complete guess)miles through town and up some huge hill, ill get pics after Christmas if this tread continues . Took me about 30 minutes on 18:12 Gearing , Going the other way took about 25 minutes. I found that as quick as i can pedal is as quick as the bike can go,This did cost me a pair of Zoo Yorks though, as i was slowly descending down the hill i forgot about the peddling, and it was like there was no chain, so off the pedals + bike i flew at 1 in the morning. Not very nice. And i usually arrived at the ex's house boiling and sweating, how nice for her lol.Meh.EDIT: just checked google maps 2.7 mi – about 55 mins, but by car its 15 mins. Fixed Pants™
Staminas not quite up for 20 miles these days. I'm more of a sprinter, short bursts are what i've been doing.
Tomm
I'm more of a sprinter No, you're not. You're just some guy that rides a bike around London. And then exagerrates on internet forums about how fast you are.
Fixed Pants™
Joel has seen me ride around london, i'm pretty quick, especially in traffic. Open roads i can sprint. Hell, when i rode to ipswich on no sleep i did bursts of spinning sprints for about 10 mins around 30mphish and was keeping up with a fast geared roadie. I don't know why none of you think i'm not at all quick, you've never seen me ride so you shouldn't really judge either way.
