anzo
Make the most of it, it'll probably be shut down eventually due to a huuuuge legal battle with the writers, Ebay and a resources supplier.

anzo
Looong story and I can't remember the fine details, but I read about it in a PC magazine (several pages long).Basically Skype became sucessful and was the bought by Ebay as a tool to improve business communications. They paid something ridiculous for it £3b seems to come to mind. However, the Skype platform uses a 3rd party supplier for the licencing which were not included in the take over bid - however the 3rd party (Joltid?) is also owned by the Skype writers, and now are trying to sue Ebay for use of their licence without permissionSo Ebay we foot to pay the bills and they didn't like it - especially as the purchase was a complete flop in the first place and it never went as they planned. So now there is a bit of a legal battle going on with Skype writers, Ebay and the 3rd party supplier - but no one is willing to take the responsibilty. Although as the royalties bill climbs day by day, the chances of either paying it gets slimmer.Ebay need the licence for Skype to function - either by taking it through the courts, or ebay paying a licence fee to Joltid.Basically Ebay is suing the writers, the 3rd party is sueing ebay and its a mess and rather complicated.Thats a rough outline, but the details may differ.
