Fishy
Right, I haven't bled my brake in aaaaaaaaaaages, and I don't ever remember seeing this, but was wondering if it's important. If you enlarge the photo, it's the orange thing above the seal. What is it and what does it do, is it important. Duncy H
At a guess I would have thought it is another seal. But more of a mud seal. Doubt you would have seen it before if you don't fiddle with your brake a lot or just bleed it as it sits deep inside the lever.
Fishy
Well I've taken apart maguras lots before, but I don't think I've ever seen it there.
duncan_echo26
It might just have been a different colour? If it was black you might not have noticed it.
Fishy
There is definitely nothing there on mine at all, it's just got a lip where it's supposed to be.
davey1991
There is definitely nothing there on mine at all, it's just got a lip where it's supposed to be.Its meant to scrape the crap out of the piston, it keeps the lever running smooth. They are increadiably easy to break or remove and they can look black, they aren't to important but they will prolong the brakes life. JT!
I read your post in the angry thread, i had this problem. If you get a long thin alan key and push it down the bleed hole and hammer the crap out of it it'll pop out.
Fishy
I put all my weight on it, it would not budge at all so that's saying something. I popped it in the freezer for 10 minutes and it popped out easily!
