craiggy1984
Hi peeps, don't really know if this has been touched upon in here before, but basicaly iv jus got an adamant a1 modstock, it's a short, and when i ride i feel all cramped up on it, i never had a problem with my czar stock which was 1080 wheelbase with high bb, im about 5'9 in height, i think my stem is too short, i also ride a 221 ti mod and im fine on that and thats a ittle mod, so was thinking what if i put my echo hifi stem on the adamant? it's not a ridicolously long stem as it is, but you can tell it's probably best suited to my monty lol, has anyone ever tried using a long stem on a stock or modstock? help! please! because my back hurts from being hunched up riding, by the way currently on the adamant im using czar risers, could i sove my problem by just using more stem stackers? craiggy1984
What stem, how much height in stackers?its an echo hi fi, think the longest one they do on tarty but is classed as a stock stem on there has a lot of rise so no stem stackers at all, im not sure of any of the geo as i dont have my toolbox for my tape measure atm, looks ok on the adamant but i feel so over the front now, hmm just going tohave to see if i can get used to it i guess as i cant afford another stem atm ........ Matt Burrows
Adamant A1s are fairly short, if you want to ride a long bike then you might have the wrong frame. Putting a super long stem on will probably make the handling horrible, I'd try raising the front end up first and see how that goes. Maybe try a longer fork as that made my short Adamant ride way better. At 5'9" you should be able to get it feeling good, I'm 6 foot and my bike has plenty of space for me, although it is the low BB version. Oh and you only need to hunch over if you posture is shit, get some core strength and keep that back straight! Should be able to compensate by just bending your legs a bit more. Yep long stem has made the handling horrible , and the other stem i had on it is deffo way too short, i need to happy medium it and i suppose as you said, add some more height then see how it goes, it's bizzare because i never used to hunch over on my czar ivan, my forks are a set of zoo ones with the maggie mount on the back and i dont really feel that they are a problem, perhaps some better bars are needed also? with more rise as the czar ones im using may aswel be flats lol, oh and i really werent in the position of choosing frame to be honest, i threaded a brake mount on my monty and till i get it fixed i wanted something to ride, so the adamant came up from a mate quite cheap, so really just wanna make it as comfy as poss, thanks for your reply though
Matt Burrows
That's cool, I love my Short Adamant so much I bought 2. Do you know if yours is the low or high BB model? They both look identical just one has a +20mm and the other has something like +60mm BB. Obviously if its the high BB model then you will need a much higher bar height to match. I'm running Trialtech forks (longer than Zoos) and Trialtech bars (maybe an inch higher than czars) plus 10mm of stackers, and thats on the low BB frame! Have tried maaaany different set-ups on this frame and that is by far the best I've found, although if yours is a high BB model it might need something else entirely. But yeah I'd just try to raise the bar height first, some high rise bars like Trialtechs can make a big difference. Hope that helps

Hope that helps Erm i think its the low rise bb like yours, i'll have to check properly, it's an 07 a1 with the welded brake booster in the frame, thats about all i know, and obv that its a short, im gonna try what you suggest though matt, and go with making the bars higher, and deffo removing that mod stem, jeez what was i thinking?! lool, i have a last resort stem for now which is really short ameoba one, but that will be just for now, yeh as for your barrs, i had white set of those trialtech risers on my czar stock, absolutely loved them, sooo comfy might just buy another set of those soon, erm any suggestion on a stem? just going to look for pics of the actual adamant i have from when my mate bought it from the guywho had it, its a lot different now though, ill add the link in a sec via quick edit.link to images of exact adamant: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....p;hl=adamant+a1still pretty much the same apart from stem, bars and forks.
