psycholist
Try taking the bike out for a few more rides and it may sort itself. I had about 5 rides where my shoulders were sore after changing bikes a few years ago. The pain disappeared completely on the sixth ride and never came back... tmusson
I think over time your forearms will become stronger, do you go the gym? If so there are various exercises you can do to increase forearm strength and grip.

Matt Vandart
It's almost certainly the geo of your set up.I had this problem when I changed from 26" to mod.I tilted the bars forwards till the rise angle was in line with the stem angle which (30 degrees) and it helped abit.I kept it like this for a while but it was still a bit uncomfortable, so I adjusted the angle of my levers and viola problem solved. Also I found I could pull the rear brake easier so I must have had the levers too far forward in the first place.Hope that helps.
